Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to test the shelf life of unwashed, unrefrigerated farmers eggs compared to store-bought washed refrigerated eggs. I became interested in this experiment as a result of living in Kenya where my Mom bought large crates of farm eggs from local villagers and she stored them on the counter, they always tasted great! This experience sparked my question: If I test different ways of treating farm eggs after purchasing, could they stay fresher for a more extended amount of time than some from the store? The findings from this experiment will help people make informed decisions about storing their eggs and furthermore, consider buying fresh eggs from local farmers.
