Abstract This project investigates plants as natural carbon sinks by measuring their ability to remove carbon dioxide (CO?) from the air in a controlled environment. Through photosynthesis, plants convert CO? into oxygen and biomass. Monitoring changes in CO? levels over time demonstrates how plant activity reduces atmospheric carbon and models the important role vegetation plays in regulating greenhouse gases and mitigating climate change.
