Abstract The purpose of my project is to determine the neuroprotective and neurorestorative effects of a synthetic peptide (TP5) on dopaminergic neurons. Using in vivo and in vitro models of Parkinson’s Disease modelled by induced oxidative stress, I wanted to explore the potential of this protein as a drug. This research will allow for the development of targeted therapeutics for other incurable neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s Disease.
