Abstract |
The purpose of my project is to accelerate current detection methods of pathogenic bacteria. Using microfluidic technology and a DNA amplification technique termed LAMP (Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification) to amplify bacterial DNA samples, I hope to increase the sensitivity of bacterial detection and decrease necessary sample volume. If produced, this product would be a more reliable and accessible method of detecting bacterial illnesses while providing point-of-care diagnosis for individuals without access to healthcare. |
