| Abstract | The rise of prosthetic devices has been clearly noticed, with 1-13.2 million people annually having amputations. Even though these people have no limbs, many prefer having no arm rather than a prosthetic limb, with 25-57% of prosthetic limbs being abandoned. This is caused by many functionality, usability and design problems in current prosthetics. The purpose of this project is to design a prosthetic arm with advanced personalized sensory feedback that addresses current user issues to create comfortability and satisfaction while also incorporating advancements never seen before like bioinspired soft palms. |
