Abstract The purpose of this project is to investigate how the concentration of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO?) affects the initial rate of its reaction with excess hydrochloric acid (HCl). Specifically, we aimed to determine whether increasing NaHCO? concentration produces a measurable increase in the initial rate of CO? production.
