Abstract Right now, treatments for autoimmune diseases (like Lupus or MS) are like using a sledgehammer to kill a fly. They kill the bad cells, but they also kill the good cells that keep us healthy. My project is about building a 'Smart T-Cell' that acts like a high-tech security guard. It has to check if a cell is a lymphocyte, and if it is displaying self antigens on MHC 2 before it attacks. This means it only hits the actually autoimmune cells and leaves the healthy cells alone.
