Abstract The purpose of this project is to develop a biosensor that integrates nanostructured gold electrodes with biological membranes. The membrane on the electrode acts as a barrier and when the membrane is breached a current is able to flow through the electrode. This biosensor would be a way to test for hemolytic bacteria in blood without incubation and with results available within an hour.
