Abstract The purpose of this project was to determine how accurate and how consistent the readings from common colorimetric water content testing strips are, using a quantitative analysis of RGB values. The subjective human factor in interpreting the test strips was to be eliminated using a photographic setup. The considered water quality parameters are total hardness, nitrate, calcium, and alkalinity.
