Abstract This project investigates enzyme integration into bioplastics, to facilitate faster and more complete degradation, reducing waste accumulation in landfills and mitigating microplastic pollution. It examines the water diffusion coefficient of Polyhydroxybutyrate and Polylactic Acid, both with and without enzyme incorporation, in comparison to Polypropylene, a synthetic plastic. Prioritizing compostability and assessing versatility across industries, the goal is to advance sustainability in materials, particularly single-use plastics.
