This project determines whether controlled vortex ring airflow can redirect or slow wildfire smoke near ground level. With wildfires increasing due to climate change, smoke spreads rapidly, reducing air quality and harming humans and wildlife. Current strategies focus on evacuation rather than immediate action. This project investigates if vortex rings from a piston driven cannon or propellers can influence smoke direction, spread, and dissipation, potentially improving visibility, air quality, and emergency response. |
