Abstract Catamenial Epilepsy refers to the worsening and enhanced frequency of seizures in correlation to the menstrual cycle. This condition affects more than 70% of women and other menstruators with epilepsy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the pathophysiology and role of hormones in this condition, also investigating possible treatments for catamenial epilepsy while considering reproductive effects and risk factors of these treatments.
