Abstract This project investigated the capabilities of xenotransplantation (the transplantation of foreign tissues, cells, organs) in response to the critical lack of human donor organs available for transplants through the perspective of practicing medical physicians in a variety of fields. With the large number of deaths that amass worldwide from the shortage of organs, porcine xenotransplantation was explored as a possible future alternative to human transplants.
