Abstract Every day we produce a lot of sewage, a wastewater filled with feces and urine. An estimated 6.4 trillion liters of human urine is produced each year. Urine contains many nutrients, and some bacteria actually thrive on eating those nutrients. Microbial Fuel Cells are generated by certain bacteria that may be found in human urine. Electricity is a necessity, an important aspect in the quality of life, yet 1.1 billion people worldwide live without it. With Fossil Fuels running out at a rapid pace, and global pressure to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. Generating electricity could be an existing carbon-neutral, renewable way of creating energy.
