Abstract Microplastics in our water sources are a huge problem. The planet is also suffering from an ever-increasing amount of waste textiles, second only to oil as the world’s largest polluter, a result of fast fashion, the rapid producing, consuming and discarding of clothing. These are two serious problems that if not solved could lead to catastrophe. This innovative filter, using clothing waste may be capable of removing microplastics contamination from water.
