Abstract The purpose of this project is to design a novel aerial mass transit system consisting of self-powered, self-navigating, automated guided vehicles traveling along a network of suspended cable systems. These vehicles can traverse from cable to cable, connecting surrounding urban areas to the city core. This easily retrofittable system can be inexpensively incorporated into existing urban infrastructure, both reducing street traffic and minimizing construction disruptions.
