Abstract To determine the microwave power (W) and duration of submerged ultrasonication (s) that, when applied together, result in the greatest bioethanol conversion rate of corrugated fibreboard in the interest of alleviating the environmental and economic burdens of current pretreatment methods for lignocellulosic biomass and, thereby, optimizing its potential as a renewable source of energy.
