Abstract Boat wakes are a significant problem in freshwater lakes, threatening ecosystems, endangering people, and causing property damage. This project investigates the physics of wake formation and uses computer aided design software to create a computational fluid dynamics simulation model. This model is then applied to optimize hull design and reduce wake output.
