Abstract The purpose of this experiment was to determine which light source can kill the most bacteria on various children's toys made out of different materials. The materials were plastic, wood, metal, and plush. My hypothesis was if one toy made out of plastic, one made out of wood, one out of plush and one toy made out of metal were all left in ultraviolet (UV) light, LED light, incandescent light, and infrared light for 1 hour, then the plastic toy that was left in UV light for 1 hour will have had the most bacteria killed because UV light is capable of killing viruses using UV sterilization, so it was most likely to kill bacteria.
