Abstract Solar Disinfection (SODIS), a water disinfection method that uses UV light, is an affordable and effective method of disinfecting water, but has little to no usage in cold climates. The purpose of this study was to investigate if SODIS could be effective in the Canadian climate, so that it can be used in Indigenous communities and in disaster situations.
