Abstract Basal cell carcinoma is the most common skin cancer. It can go untreated for years due to its concerningly frequent confusion with benign moles. This project develops a convolutional neural network (a form of artificial intelligence) for accurate diagnostic screening of basal cell carcinoma through non-invasive imagery with little to no cost. This provides accessibility to early detection of cancer for people in remote areas, low income citizens, and those in marginalized communities.
