Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic prompted worldwide lockdowns and governmental responses; however, some government policies, interventions, and responses were ineffective. This study aims to investigate epidemiological models, including SIR and agent-based models, to assess accuracy in predicting disease outbreaks and determine if they can realistically influence government responses and policies in future epidemics. Moreover, the study will explore the stochastic dynamics in epidemiological models and their various effects by constructing a prototype simulation of an agent-based model with SIR frameworks.
