Abstract The purpose of this project is to leverage artificial intelligence techniques, particularly Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to achieve two main objectives: Firstly, to develop a model that is capable of accurately classifying chest X-ray images into two categories: those belonging to healthy individuals and those affected by pneumonia. Secondly, exploring the potential for identifying disease-related regions within X-ray images allowing for a more focused analysis, potentially aiding healthcare professionals in understanding the extent and severity of the infection.
