Abstract The purpose of this project is to investigate whether individuals with schizophrenia experience stronger cognitive and psychological effects after receiving anesthesia compared to individuals without schizophrenia. This project aims to examine how anesthesia interacts with schizophrenia-related brain differences, antipsychotic medications, and underlying medical conditions, and to determine whether these factors increase the risk of postoperative complications. Ultimately, this research seeks to show the importance of anesthesia care for patients with schizophrenia.
