Abstract My project examines the extent to which biomechanical and neural factors affect regional activation of the latissimus dorsi muscle. The four proposed determinants are muscle architecture, mean muscle length, motor unit recruitment distribution, and task-specific experience. We evaluate each factor, comparing theoretical plausibility with experimental data to determine relative significance. The project's findings seek to enhance rehabilitation protocols, optimise resistance training and improve biomechanical models.
