Abstract The purpose of Cracking Osmosis is to better understand osmosis with the use of a shell-stripped egg. Demonstrated using "naked eggs," which were eggs with eggshells dissolved in vinegar, osmosis becomes a very observable experiment despite its microscopic nature. The several experiments included submerging the naked eggs into substances of various concentrations to record the resulting new weight, size, appearance, and texture of the egg's membrane. While manipulating the eggs to subsequently grow, shrink, and return to the egg's original size.
