Abstract The purpose of our experiment was to measure how pH levels affect dinoflagellates by measuring their glow and eventually, due to a chain reaction, marine ecosystems. This shows how certain factors such as air pollution, acid rain, agricultural waste that raises the pH levels in the ocean slightly and how this may affect the entire marine ecosystem, therefore affecting humans. Overall, we wanted to represent that small factors such as a slight rise in the pH levels of the ocean by an outer human force can wipe out entire ecosystems, as well as highlighting the importance of reducing pollution.
