Abstract The purpose of this project was to determine whether molecular collisions can generate measurable, scale-dependent velocity fluctuations that persist at mesoscopic scales and produce statistically significant directional transfer. I also investigated whether these collision-driven statistics can parameterize a reduced-order model without empirical tuning, thereby linking microscopic kinetic processes to continuum-scale turbulence modeling (Paper: https://doi.org/10.1515/tp-2026-0017; Code: https://github.com/Tristan-5/collision_rom_demo).
