Abstract The purpose of Project SERTA is to explore how genetic differences in the serotonin transporter gene can improve diagnosis and antidepressant selection in depression and anxiety, conditions that affect over 280 million people worldwide. By combining genetic modelling with a clinical decision-support tool, this project aims to reduce misdiagnosis, shorten trial-and-error prescribing, and support more personalized, precise, and timely mental health care.
