Abstract Computer and the internet constantly present distractions in the school life. Many students believe multitasking is the answer. This experiment examined the effects of multitasking on students’ performance. Fifty (50) students between the ages of 11 and 14 were divided into 2 groups. Group A (n=25) was tested while being distracted with Skype® and Group B (n=25) was tested without distractions. Group A on average scored 5.4, and Group B scored a 6.4. Based on the results of this experiment, people who multitask during testing have lower score.
