Abstract Energy costs have been rising for Canadians in recent years, potentially placing burdens on Canadian families. With the right insulation material installed in roofs, houses can save thousands of dollars from heating and cooling. To determine the insulation material that would efficiently conserve heat, Styrofoam, aluminum, steel, fiberglass, and foil-faced bubble wrap were used as roof insulations to verify which material best preserved heat.
