Abstract The purpose of this project is to see if Brassica Juncea (Mustard Seed) and Lolium (Ryegrass) – known hyperaccumulators – are successful at extracting zinc from soil. The hypothesis was that if Mustard Seed and Ryegrass are planted in soil contaminated with zinc, then the plants will accumulate the heavy metal contaminant and take it out of the soil.
