Safety Inspector Training

Safety Inspections of all student projects takes place on Thursday March 21, 2024 from 4-9 pm. If you are interested in participating in Safety Inspection but are not judging this year, drop us a note at safety@basef.ca 
There are several ways to prepare for BASEF Safety Inspection.
  • If you are new to Safety Inspection, please join us for one of two Zoom meetings. Please note that each meeting will have the same agenda, so you can pick the one that is most convenient for you. Dates: Tuesday March 5, 2024 7-8 pm. Monday March 11, 2024 7-8 pm. Links to the meetings will be sent out to registered Safety Inspectors prior to the events.

What is a Safety Inspection?

The safety inspection ensures that:

  • Projects don’t pose unnecessary risks to students, volunteers, and the public.
  • Adherence to Fair, hosting institution and municipal safety codes.
  • To make projects safe and eligible for display and competition.

 

What is the Role of a Safety Inspector?

The Safety Inspector assists students in preparing their projects for safe exhibition at the Fair. They evaluate the project to ensure that it meets the Fair’s safety regulations.
