Why Volunteer?

Without our dedicated volunteers, BASEF would not happen! BASEF is one of Canada’s premier regional Science and Engineering Fairs and is always looking for committed and interested volunteers of all ages. BASEF is very thankful for everyone who helps and donates their time to make our fair as successful as possible every year.

Volunteering at BASEF can include as little as three hours before or during the fair to long term planning on the committee. Various opportunities include; judges, mentors, fundraisers, planners, marketers, etc. If you would like to learn more, talk to our Volunteer Coordinator.

Volunteers’ Orientation

The volunteers’ orientation is an informative evening hosted by the Volunteer Coordinator. This is a chance to meet each other, learn about BASEF, and learn about your responsibility as a volunteer. This is also an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have before the fair. Topics include safety measures, emergency procedures and volunteer expectations.

All volunteers overseeing student activities are encouraged to attend. Sessions are typically held at Mohawk College on Monday or Tuesday evenings before the fair. More information will be sent out before the fair.
