Bursary Program Application – Financial Support for Young Innovators

The BASEF Bursary Program is designed to spark creativity and empower students who may need financial assistance to begin—or complete—their science fair project. We believe that innovation should be accessible to every young scientist, and we’re excited to continue supporting students across our region as they explore their ideas and bring their projects to life.

This year, BASEF will award up to 25 bursaries of $40 each to students in Grades 7 to 12 within our catchment area. These bursaries can be used to purchase materials, supplies, or other essentials needed to help transform a great idea into a finished project.

To ensure the opportunity is as accessible as possible, teachers may nominate students, and for the first time, students can also nominate themselves—making it easier than ever to seek support.

Applications open at 8:00 AM on December 1, 2025, and close at 11:59 PM on January 10, 2026.

If students are working as a pair, please submit one application per project, as each team is eligible for a single $40 bursary.

This program continues to play an important role in reducing barriers, encouraging exploration, and helping ignite the curiosity that leads to great science. We can’t wait to see what students dream up this year!
