His PhD research on embedded security has resulted in him being asked to make many presentations at international conferences including Blackhat and DEF CON. As part of this research he started an open-source project called ChipWhisperer, which won 2nd place in the 2014 Hackaday Prize Contest. He also writes for Circuit Cellar magazine as a regular columnist, and has started a company dedicated to tools and training in the area of embedded security analysis. He published an article in the Journal of Cryptographic Engineering in November 2014. I know that he has published other articles and can ask him for details if you want.The Chip Whisperer is described as the first ever open-source solution that provides a complete tool for research and analysis of embedded hardware security.
