The BASEF Grand Awards include trip awards to travel to and compete in the Canada Wide Science & Engineering Fair and the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. These awards include travel costs, accommodation, meals, and costs associated with the Fair.

Canada-Wide Science Fair (CWSF): The Canada Wide Science Fair is the top level of Science Fair competition in Canada, with competitors chosen from over one hundred Regional Science Fairs from every province and territory across the country. In 2016 CWSF is being held in Montreal, Quebec.

Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF): The International Science and Engineering Fair is the premier global science competition for students in Grades 9 to 12. Over 1,600 students from nearly 60 countries and regions will compete for millions of dollars in prizes and awards. "Team BASEF" sends up to 4 students to compete at the ISEF, who will join up with students from other Regional and Provincial Fairs to represent "Team Canada". In 2016 the ISEF will be held in Phoenix, Arizona. More information is available on the ISEF web site.
